Follow The Directions

01

Step

Prepare the Ribs: If necessary, remove the thin membrane (silver skin) from the underside of the rib tips. Generously rub seasoned salt all over the meat. (5 minutes)

02

Step

Marinate: Line a baking pan with aluminum foil. Place the seasoned rib tips in the pan and cover tightly with another sheet of foil. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight, to allow the flavors to meld. (4 hours - overnight)

03

Step

First Bake: Preheat the oven to 250 degrees F (120 degrees C). Bake the foil-wrapped ribs in the preheated oven for 2 1/2 hours. This slow cooking process will tenderize the meat. (2 hours 30 minutes)

04

Step

Adjust Oven & Drain: Remove the pan from the oven and increase the oven temperature to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Carefully uncover the pan and drain any excess liquid that has accumulated. (5 minutes)

05

Step

First Sauce & Bake: Brush the rib tips generously with barbecue sauce. Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes, allowing the sauce to caramelize. (15 minutes)

06

Step

Continue Saucing & Baking: Flip the ribs and brush with additional barbecue sauce. Continue baking for another 15 minutes. Repeat this step two more times, ensuring the ribs are evenly coated and glazed with sauce. (1 hour)

07

Step

Cut into serving pieces: Remove from oven and cut the rib tips into desired serving sizes, about 1 1/2 to 2 inches each. (5 minutes)

08

Step

Broil for Char (Optional): Turn on the oven broiler. Set an oven rack about 6 inches from the heat source. Broil the ribs until slightly charred, 2 to 3 minutes. Watch carefully to make sure they do not burn. (2-3 minutes)

For a deeper smoky flavor, consider adding a teaspoon of smoked paprika to the seasoned salt.
If you don't have seasoned salt, use a combination of salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika.
The broiling step is optional but adds a nice caramelized finish. Keep a close eye on the ribs to prevent burning.
Serve these rib tips with extra barbecue sauce, coleslaw, and your favorite sides for a complete meal.

Make sure you wrap the ribs tightly in foil to trap the moisture. This will ensure that they are tender.
