Feel free to experiment with other nuts or seeds in place of the almonds. Pine nuts or pepitas would be excellent substitutes. For a vegan version, omit the feta cheese or substitute with a vegan feta alternative. A splash of balsamic vinegar at the end can add a delightful tang.
