Follow The Directions

01

Step

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking pan. (Prep time: 5 minutes)

02

Step

In a large bowl, cream together 0.75 cup softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar using an electric mixer until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla extract. (Mixing time: 7 minutes)

03

Step

In a separate medium bowl, whisk together 2.25 cups of flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the creamed mixture, mixing until just combined. Divide the batter evenly into two separate bowls. (Mixing time: 5 minutes)

04

Step

In a small bowl, whisk together cocoa powder and 1 tablespoon melted butter until a smooth paste forms. Stir this cocoa mixture into one of the bowls of batter until evenly incorporated – this will be your 'black' brownie batter. Pour the black batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly. (Mixing time: 5 minutes)

05

Step

To the remaining bowl of batter, gently fold in the remaining 0.25 cup of flour and milk chocolate chips. This is your 'white' brownie batter. Carefully spread the white batter evenly over the black batter in the pan. Sprinkle the white chocolate chips evenly over the top. (Assembly time: 5 minutes)

06

Step

Bake in the preheated oven for 20 to 30 minutes, or until the edges are set and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs attached. Let cool completely in the pan before cutting into bars. (Bake time: 20-30 minutes)

For an even fudgier brownie, slightly underbake them.
Use high-quality chocolate chips for the best flavor.
To prevent the white chocolate chips from sinking, toss them with a tablespoon of flour before sprinkling them on top.
Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
