Follow The Directions

01

Step

In a large bowl, gently combine the panko bread crumbs, freshly grated Parmesan cheese, basil pesto, large egg, milk, ricotta cheese, Italian seasoning, salt, pepper, and granulated garlic. Mix until just combined. (5 minutes)

02

Step

Add the ground turkey to the bowl and lightly fold it into the mixture. Be careful not to overmix, as this can result in tougher meatballs. (3 minutes)

03

Step

Preheat your air fryer to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) for 5 minutes. (5 minutes)

04

Step

Shape the ground turkey mixture into approximately 1-1/2 inch meatballs. Gently place the meatballs into the preheated air fryer basket, ensuring they are not overcrowded. You may need to cook them in batches. (10 minutes)

05

Step

Cook the meatballs in the air fryer until they are cooked through and golden brown, approximately 8 to 10 minutes. For optimal doneness, use an instant-read thermometer inserted into the center of a meatball; it should register at least 165 degrees F (74 degrees C). (10 minutes)

For extra flavor, try using a blend of ground turkey and ground chicken.
If you don't have ricotta cheese on hand, you can substitute with cream cheese or sour cream.
To prevent the meatballs from sticking to the air fryer basket, lightly spray the basket with cooking oil spray before adding the meatballs.
These meatballs are also delicious served as appetizers with a variety of dipping sauces.

I was skeptical about making meatballs in the air fryer, but these turned out amazing. So much faster than baking them in the oven!
