For a richer flavor, try using brown butter instead of melted butter. Simply melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat, continuing to cook until the butter turns a nutty brown color and emits a fragrant aroma. Let it cool slightly before adding to the batter. Feel free to experiment with different nuts and spices! Pecans, almonds, or a pinch of nutmeg would also be delicious additions. These breakfast cups freeze beautifully! Once cooled, wrap them individually in plastic wrap and store them in a freezer-safe bag for up to 2 months. Reheat in the microwave or oven until warmed through.
