Follow The Directions

01

Step
1 mins

In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. (1 minute)

02

Step
5 mins

Add the diced onion and minced garlic, cooking until the onion is softened and translucent. (5 minutes)

03

Step
1 mins

Stir in the ketchup, beer, white vinegar, jalapeño pepper jelly, brown sugar, dry mustard, ground cumin, chipotle pepper, smoked paprika, and salt.

04

Step
2 mins

Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking. (2 minutes)

05

Step
10 mins

Reduce heat to low and continue to simmer, allowing the sauce to thicken slightly, for approximately 10-15 minutes.

For a smoother sauce, use an immersion blender after simmering. Be careful, the sauce will be hot!
Adjust the amount of chipotle pepper to your preference for heat.
Store leftover sauce in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.
For a richer flavour, try using bourbon instead of beer.
