For a richer flavor, use homemade chicken or vegetable stock in place of water. If the polenta becomes too thick, add a little more milk or water to reach your desired consistency. To make ahead, spread the cooked polenta into a greased baking dish. Once cooled, cover and refrigerate. Cut into shapes and pan-fry or bake before serving. Experiment with different herbs, such as rosemary or thyme, for a unique flavor profile.
