For a richer flavor, use brown butter instead of regular butter. To make brown butter, cook the butter over medium heat until it turns a nutty brown color and has a toasted aroma. Be careful not to burn it!
Fresh corn kernels (cut from about 3 ears of corn) can be substituted for frozen corn. Adjust cooking time accordingly.
A pinch of cayenne pepper can add a subtle kick.
Garnish with fresh herbs like chives or parsley for a pop of color and freshness.
For a vegan version, substitute the butter with olive oil or vegan butter and the heavy cream with cashew cream or full-fat coconut milk.
