Sauté the Aromatics and Broccoli (8-10 minutes): Heat 2 tablespoons of canola oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat until shimmering. Add the thinly sliced yellow onion and cook, stirring occasionally, until softened, about 2 minutes. Add the broccoli florets and cook, stirring occasionally, until they are bright green and tender-crisp, and the onion is lightly browned, about 6-8 minutes. Transfer the broccoli mixture to a plate and set aside. Do not wipe the skillet clean.
