Follow The Directions

01

Step
2 mins

Place the frozen ham on a trivet inside the Instant Pot. (2 minutes)

02

Step
3 mins

Pour the crushed pineapple (with its juice) evenly over the ham. Sprinkle the brown sugar over the pineapple, followed by a drizzle of maple syrup. (3 minutes)

03

Step
48 mins

Close and lock the Instant Pot lid. Select the 'Pressure Cook' or 'Manual' setting on high pressure. Set the timer for 35 minutes. Allow 10-15 minutes for the pressure to build. (45-50 minutes)

04

Step
25 mins

Once the cooking time is complete, allow the pressure to release naturally for 10-40 minutes. Check the internal temperature of the ham with an instant-read thermometer. It should reach at least 145°F (63°C) for fresh ham or 140°F (60°C) for pre-cooked ham. (10-40 minutes)

05

Step
5 mins

Carefully remove the ham and trivet from the Instant Pot. Transfer the ham to a cutting board and slice it. Arrange the slices on a serving platter. (5 minutes)

06

Step
2 mins

Select the 'Sauté' function on the Instant Pot. In a small bowl, whisk together the water and cornstarch to create a slurry. Pour the slurry into the Instant Pot with the pineapple-ham juices. (2 minutes)

07

Step
5 mins

Bring the mixture to a boil, stirring constantly, until it thickens into a glossy glaze. This should only take a few minutes. (5 minutes)

08

Step

Pour the glaze evenly over the sliced ham. Serve immediately and enjoy!

For a deeper smoky flavor, consider using smoked ham.
If you don't have dark brown sugar, light brown sugar works well too.
Adjust the amount of maple syrup to your desired level of sweetness.
The natural pressure release is important for a more tender ham. If you're short on time, you can do a partial natural release (15-20 minutes) followed by a careful quick release, but the ham may be slightly less tender.
Leftover glazed ham is fantastic in sandwiches, salads, or omelets.
