Follow The Directions

01

Step
5 mins

In a medium bowl, combine the Original Ranch Salad Dressing & Seasoning Mix, sour cream, spinach, and water chestnuts. Mix well to ensure all ingredients are evenly distributed. (5 minutes)

02

Step
30 mins

Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours, to allow the flavors to meld. (30 minutes)

03

Step
15 mins

While the dip is chilling, prepare the bread bowl. Using a serrated knife, carefully cut off the top of the French bread loaf, creating a lid. (5 minutes)

04

Step
5 mins

Hollow out the inside of the loaf, leaving a 1-inch thick shell. Reserve the bread that you remove from the center; cut it into bite-sized cubes for dipping. (10 minutes)

05

Step
5 mins

Just before serving, fill the bread bowl with the chilled spinach dip. (2 minutes)

06

Step

Arrange the cubed bread and vegetable sticks around the filled bread bowl on a serving platter. (5 minutes)

For a richer flavor, substitute half of the sour cream with mayonnaise.
Ensure the spinach is thoroughly drained to prevent a watery dip. Squeeze out as much excess moisture as possible after thawing.
To add a touch of sweetness, consider including a small amount of finely diced red onion or a sprinkle of sugar.
If you don't have time to chill the dip, it can be served immediately, although the flavors will be more pronounced if allowed to meld.
For a visually appealing presentation, use a variety of colorful vegetables for dipping.

I substituted the water chestnuts with celery and it was still delicious! Great recipe for using up veggies in the fridge.

The key is to really drain the spinach well. Otherwise, the dip can get watery. I learned that the hard way!

I like to add a little bit of cream cheese to make it extra creamy.
