For a richer flavor, use browned butter instead of melted butter in the base of the pan. If you don't have self-rising flour, you can make your own by combining 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour with 2 1/4 teaspoons baking powder and 3/4 teaspoon salt. Feel free to experiment with different nuts, such as walnuts or almonds, in place of pecans. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat gently in the microwave or oven before serving.
