For a smoother mash, use a potato ricer or food mill instead of a standard masher. Adjust the amount of cayenne pepper to suit your spice preference. A pinch of smoked paprika can also add a nice depth of flavor. The roasted garlic can be prepared ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator for up to a week. Simply reheat it before adding to the sweet potatoes.
