Follow The Directions

01

Step

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). (5 minutes)

02

Step

Arrange the diced, cooked chicken evenly across the bottom of a 2-quart casserole dish. (2 minutes)

03

Step

In a separate bowl, whisk together the condensed cream of chicken soup, sour cream, and milk until smooth and well combined. Pour this creamy mixture evenly over the chicken in the casserole dish. (5 minutes)

04

Step

In another bowl, gently toss the dry bread stuffing mix with the melted butter. Gradually add hot water, a tablespoon at a time, until the stuffing is moistened but not soggy. Sprinkle the buttered stuffing evenly over the creamed chicken in the casserole dish. (7 minutes)

05

Step

Bake in the preheated oven for approximately 30 minutes, or until the casserole is heated through and the stuffing topping is golden brown and bubbly. (30 minutes)

For an extra layer of flavor, consider adding a sprinkle of shredded cheddar cheese to the stuffing topping during the last 10 minutes of baking.
To prevent the stuffing from browning too quickly, tent the casserole dish with foil during the first half of the baking time.
Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven or microwave until warmed through.

I found that 1/4 cup milk was enough, it depends on how thick you want the sauce. Yummy recipe!

The stuffing got a little too browned for me, so I covered it with foil halfway through baking.

Next time, I'll add some sauteed onions and celery to the chicken for more depth of flavor.
