Follow The Directions

01

Step

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Line a 2.2-quart glass baking dish with aluminum foil; coat with cooking spray. (5 minutes)

02

Step

Sift ¾ cup flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking soda together into a bowl; set aside. (5 minutes)

03

Step

Beat sugar, butter, and vanilla extract with an electric mixer in a separate bowl until smooth and fluffy; beat in eggs, one at a time, until thoroughly combined. (7 minutes)

04

Step

Add flour mixture to sugar mixture, in two to three additions, mixing slowly until batter is just combined. Toss chocolate chips and walnuts with remaining 1 ½ tablespoons flour in a bowl; fold into batter. (10 minutes)

05

Step

Pour batter into the prepared baking dish; level top using a rubber spatula. (2 minutes)

06

Step

Bake in the preheated oven until edges are set and start to pull away from the sides of the pan, 20 to 30 minutes. Cool until center firms up.

For an extra layer of decadence, consider adding a swirl of caramel or a sprinkle of sea salt on top before baking.
The key to gooey brownies is not overbaking them. They should be slightly underbaked in the center when you remove them from the oven, as they will continue to set as they cool.
Use high-quality chocolate chips for the best flavor.
